Cottingham Local History Society Talks Programme for 2026-2027

 

The monthly meetings take place on a Wednesday in the Civic Hall, Cottingham, 7.30 to 9.00 p.m.
Admission fee £2 for members, £4 for visitors.

October 7 Robb Robinson, ‘Hull, Yorkshire’s Maritime City: the inland waterways dimension’. 

November 4 John Killingbeck, ‘A history of Thwaite Gardens’. The Annual Stamp Lecture.

December 2 Peter Halkon, ‘Petuaria Revisited: investigating Roman Brough’.

January 6 Richard Clarke, ‘Holderness: the land that came, went and came again’.

February 3 Alex Ombler, ‘Hessle Cliff and the Black Mill at Hessle’.

March 3 David Neave, ‘Highlights of 59 years of researching the history and buildings of East Yorkshire’.

April 7 AGM followed by a social event for members.
